Hiking tour at the border triangle
On this wonderful mountain hike, passionate hiking guide Dietmar Schuss takes you through three countries in around four hours. From Austria to Slovenia and Italy, the friendly bond between the people on the mountain is particularly impressive. Old positions from the Second World War can be visited here, as can the chapels of the Virgin Mary. The war never found its way to this area, no destruction took place. Dietmar Schuss has the “keys” to the bunkers, but also to one or two small Italian huts.Sometimes you get the feeling that even the Mangart, situated on the edge of the Triglav National Park and one of the highest mountains in the Julian Alps, is close enough to touch. You look towards Slovenia and Planica with its ski jump, then back west towards the Gailtal valley. And you are amazed and grateful for this wonderful landscape.
Of course, as an experienced hiking guide, he also knows where to find a good glass of wine. In terms of scenery, this tour impresses with its proximity to the Karawanken and the Julian Alps as well as sensational views.
