Hike on the Gerlitzen Alps
Leisurely half-day hike with hiking guide Dietmar Schuss. The route: over the sunny Gerlitzen Alpe, always different and varied, always exciting. The experience: a fantastic panorama, an all-round view of the many Carinthian lakes, the Julian Alps and the Karawanken. The middle station of the Gerlitzen Kanzelbahn cable car is the start of this panoramic and varied hike. The route leads to the rocky lakes and the Noreia sky ladder. Here you can marvel at the wonder of nature.
The rock lakes are like an echo of the many lakes in the Carinthian valleys. The next highlight and place of cleansing and strengthening is the Noreia Heavenly Ladder with its seven steps.
On each step you can feel the energy of certain alpine flowers. There is also a wonderful view from here. The route also takes you to the Steinwenderhütte, one of the oldest huts on the Gerlitzen Alpe, known for its beautiful location and regional hut delicacies, which are still traditionally prepared on a wood-fired stove. Incidentally, dogs are very welcome on the “Hikes with a twist”. The mountain guide is also happy to give tips on how to behave with four-legged friends on the mountain, e.g. when crossing a pasture.
