Adventure hike on the Kanzianiberg
Only 12 minutes by car separate you from our affordable accommodation in Warmbad Villach from the Kanzianiberg. As an official partner of the Erlebniscard, we offer you a free guided hike on the family and health hiking trail including Kneipp stations and many themed places. Also ideal for children!
A hike on the Kanzianiberg is always a new discovery for and with Elisabeth Warmuth, with many paths and unique views, but also insights into our landscape.
The special thing about this mountain is that it has two cones: the lower one with the famous church and the slightly higher, second one with a sensational view of the Drau Valley and Lake Faak.
The Kanzianiberg is equally exciting for history buffs and climbers. A Neolithic settlement and 45 burial mounds bear witness to an occupation in the middle of the 3rd millennium BC. At the summit of the mountain (774 m) stands the St. Kanzian branch church. Having grown up at the foot of the mountain, every step is also a journey back to Elisabeth’s childhood. On this family hike, you not only get to know the Kanzianiberg as a natural spectacle, but also immerse yourself in the history and customs of the area. A break at the Kneipp stations provides refreshment in between. As the path leads past old farmhouses or the restored lime kiln, Elisabeth talks about the past, about the life and work of the people who lived here. Alarich Warmuth, Elisabeth’s father, also accompanies these unique adventure hikes step by step on the adventure trail or the Kneipp course. The hike takes place in all weathers. If it rains, there is a surprise, which is sometimes hidden in an orchard.
