Peterlewand climbing garden
With mountain guide and climbing pro Simon Wurzer, you head high up above Lake Ossiach. It is an experience for climbers and anyone who simply wants to try out climbing. It takes a little effort. The first steps and holds are uncertain. But the feeling of happiness on the climbing wall is indescribable. The Peterlewand climbing garden is a special place, idyllically situated above Lake Ossiach. Anyone can climb here.
From the meeting point at the sports field (SGT), it’s a 10-minute walk in sporty outdoor clothing through the forest to the approach to the wall. Then it gets technical.
This is followed by detailed explanations about the basics of climbing and, of course, equipment such as helmet and harness. We start on the practice via ferrata. It’s a first approach, a feeling for the wall and confidence in yourself. The best moment is when the initial fear and timidity give way to safety and you enjoy every movement, even the view downwards, and finally follow your “primal instinct” as if by magic. The reward is the elation of having overcome gravity and, of course, a breathtaking view over Lake Ossiach.
